Join James Beard Award–winning celebrity chef Susan Feniger, and her life partner filmmaker Liz Lachman for a night of film and food. The party kicks off with a tequila cocktail and bites designed by Feniger followed by a screening of the film Susan Feniger. Forked. Post-screening, enjoy a dessert reception where you can mingle with Lachman and Feniger and discuss the film.

Susan Feniger. Forked is a verité documentary film by Liz Lachman which follows her partner of 28 years, award-winning celebrity chef Susan Feniger. As chef Feniger struggles to bring her global street food to her first solo restaurant, STREET, her passion is evident in her quest. Featuring Wolfgang Puck, Bobby Flay, Mary Sue Milliken, and Barbara Fairchild, Susan Feniger. Forked is a personal story about starting over and about not if one will fail, but how. (Running time 90 minutes).

About Susan Feniger:

Susan Feniger is the James Beard Award–winning co-chef and co-owner of Border Grill restaurants, trucks, and catering as well as Socalo, BBQ Mexicana, and Pacha Mamas with business partner Mary Sue Milliken. The duo rose to prominence on Food Network with nearly 400 episodes of the Too Hot Tamales and Tamales World Tour series, and have since appeared on Cooking with Master Chefs (alongside Julia Child), Top Chef Masters, and The Chef Show.

In 2018, Feniger and Milliken were named the recipients of both the Gold Award from the Los Angeles Times and the Julia Child Award from The Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Art.

Susan is the co-author of six cookbooks, works closely with the Monterey Bay Aquarium to promote sustainable seafood, isa founding member of the Scleroderma Research Foundation Board of Directors, sits on L.A. Tourism & Convention Board, and co-chairs the board of the Los Angeles LGBT Center.

About Liz Lachman:

Liz Lachman is an Emmy Award–winning musician and composer, a Golden Reel Award–winning music editor, and a BMI TV Music Award winner. As a filmmaker Liz’s latest short psychological drama, Pin-up has won 30 film festival awards worldwide and a feature version is currently in development. Her first short film, Getting to Know You, starring Dana Delaney and Ian Gomez, won nine film festival awards. As a writer, Lachman has placed in numerous competitions including twice being a quarter-finalist and landing in the top fifteen percent of the prestigious Academy Nicholl Screenwriting Competition.

Liz recently completed her first feature film, Susan Feniger. Forked, which follows her partner of 28 years, chef Susan Feniger as she travels the world gathering street food recipes for her first solo restaurant in Los Angeles—which refused to go well.

Tickets to events held at Platform at Pier 57 by the James Beard Foundation cover the cost of food, education and a unique dining experience. Meals are prepared by culinary masters from all regions of the United States and around the world. Unless otherwise stated, alcoholic beverages are provided on a complimentary basis and are not included in the ticket price.
