Join James Beard Award–winning author, wine director, and owner of San Francisco’s A16 for an afternoon of tasting and learning about Italy’s regional wine and food. Lindgren’s latest book, Italian Wine: The History, Regions and Grapes of an Iconic Wine Region will serve as inspiration for this exclusive guided tasting of wine and food from eight regions.  

Executive chef Yosuke Machida of San Francisco’s A16 has crafted regional Italian food pairings to accompany each wine. This journey will take guests from Northern to Southern Italy and highlight authentic, traditional grapes and flavors. The longstanding belief of “what grows together, goes together” will be front and center for all who attend.

About Shelley Lindgren: 

Shelley Lindgren is the wine director and owner of San Francisco’s beloved Italian restaurant A16, with locations in Oakland, Tokyo, and Yokohama. She has received the James Beard Award for Outstanding Wine Program; has received the Slow Wine Fair Award for Best Selection of Good, Clean, and Fair Italian Wine; and has been knighted by the Italian government, receiving the prestigious “Cavaliere dell'Ordine Della Stella Italia” (Dott.ssa) distinction for her professional dedication to Italian wine.
