August 24, 7:00 P.M. Dinner: It Takes a Village Presented by Pepsi Dig In

August 24, 2023 07:00 PM

A Collaborative Dinner Featuring Chef Maya-Camille Broussard of Justice of the Pies and Netflix's Bake Squad, Hav & Mar Executive Chef Fariyal Abdullahi, and Top Chef Alum, Author, and Chef Adrienne Cheatham

25 11th Ave, New York, NY 10011, USA

“It takes a village to raise a child" is an African proverb which conveys the idea that it takes a community of like-minded people to aid in the development and rearing of a child. This concept is also prevalent in the culinary community today, where chefs lean on each other for support, especially women and people of color. In Maya-Camille Broussard’s experience, her village is a community of Black, female chefs from whom she receives guidance and peer support to help her navigate her journey. Join Chef Broussard for a special dinner featuring two women who are a part of her village: chef Fariyal Abdullahi of New York City hotspot Hav & Mar and chef Adrienne Cheatham, a James Beard Media Award nominee for her cookbook, Sunday Best, and runner up of Bravo's Top Chef. Accompanying wines from Skurnik Wines & Spirits have been thoughtfully curated by guest sommelier Kelly Mitchell, a Wine Enthusiast “40 Under 40” tastemaker.
