An Italian-style Seafood Celebration Featuring James Beard Award–Winning Chef Karen Akunowicz
Join James Beard Award winner and Top Chef “Fan Favorite” chef Karen Akunowicz for this one-night-only Feast of the Seven Fishes, inspired by her new cookbook, Crave: Bold Recipes that Make You Want Seconds. The Feast of La Vigilia, the celebratory seafood-centric meal that occurs on Christmas Eve, is deeply rooted in Italian tradition and the most important meal of the holiday. Chef Akunowicz’s specially crafted tasting menu will channel her Southern Italian dishes and feature seafood prepared in a variety of bold ways, from chilled shrimp acqua pazza to fried whole fish and beautifully pan-seared scallops. Don’t forget the handmade pasta that chef Akunowicz is known for, adorned with Maine lobster. Along with the plentiful plates singing with seafood, there will be carefully selected wine pairings, which include her private label KA Sangiovese, made by celebrated winemaker Giovanna Modenia. This seafood spectacular will be a Feast of the Seven Fishes of epic proportions and one you won’t want to miss.

About Karen Akunowicz:
Chef Karen Akunowicz is the 2018 James Beard Foundation Award winner for Best Chef: Northeast and the 2020 James Beard Award nominee for Best New Restaurant in America. She is the chef and wwner of Fox & the Knife Enoteca in South Boston, Bar Volpe Ristorante, and Fox Pasta Company, and has been touted as “Boston’s Queen of Pasta”. Her restaurant Fox & the Knife was called an “Instant Classic” by Food & Wine and named one of their “Best New Restaurants in America”.
Chef Akunowicz is a well-known television personality, voted fan favorite on Bravo TV’s Emmy-nominated show Top Chef (seasons Season 13 as well as “All-Stars”). She is a rising star on Food Network’s “Tournament of Champions” and has appeared as a judge on Top Chef, Top Chef Canada, America’s Worst Cooks, Guy’s Grocery Games and America’s Test Kitchen Next Generation. She is a recurring judge on Beat Bobby Flay.

Tickets to events held at Platform at Pier 57 by the James Beard Foundation cover the cost of food, education and a unique dining experience. Meals are prepared by culinary masters from all regions of the United States and around the world.
