December 20, 6:00 P.M. Demo and Dine: Aperitivo Hour with James Beard Award–Winning Chef and Author Karen Akunowicz

December 20, 2023 06:00 PM

Learn the Joys of the Italian Happy Hour

25 11th Ave, New York, NY 10011, USA

Italians have mastered the art of la dolce vita, meaning “the sweet life,” which is evident in their approach to all things, including dining. The first stop before dinner is aperitivi, a vivacious happy hour that is meant to create community and stimulate the appetite. Think bubbles and bitters-forward beverages like the Aperol Spritz and Negroni and light, craveable bites that go far beyond bar snacks.  Join James Beard Award–winning celebrity chef and restauranteur Karen Akunowicz, owner of Boston’s Fox & the Knife and Bar Volpe,  as she shares her love for the cuisine and culture she has immersed herself in since living and training in Modena, Italy at L’Avian Blu. During this demonstration, as you sip and savor, you’ll learn how to mix up a modern version of classic Italian cocktails and bites from chef Karen’s new cookbook, Crave: Bold Recipes That Make You Want Seconds.

Signed copies of chef Karen’s latest book, Crave: Bold Recipes That Make You Want Seconds, will be available for purchase.
