2022 James Beard semifinalist Friends and Family Bar is taking their Queer Speed Dating on the road to New York City! Historically, queer bars have been spaces to find and create community, and women-led and queer-owned Friends and Family delivers that in Oakland. And for one night only, co-hosts Blake Cole and Meg Strait are bringing their speed dating event to Platform. In addition to speed dating rounds, enjoy a selection of Friends and Family classic cocktails and the bar’s favorite snacks.
Whether you're single, open, or just looking for friends and community, there’s something and someone for everyone!
Doors open at 6:30pm. Please arrive before 7pm for a name tag and a welcome cocktail.
Beverages generously donated by Fords Gin, Chambord, and Mommenpop. A portion of the proceeds will be provided to the Trans Law Center by Friends and Family Bar.
Tickets to events held at Platform at Pier 57 by the James Beard Foundation cover the cost of food, education and a unique dining experience. Meals are prepared by culinary masters from all regions of the United States and around the world. Unless otherwise stated, alcoholic beverages are provided on a complimentary basis and are not included in the ticket price.
