The holidays are approaching and that means it’s time to start thinking about gifts. Join us for our inaugural artisan holiday market featuring creative culinary-focused makers. From cookbooks by BEM Books & More to Hawaiian condiments from Poi Dog Sauces to Japanese knives from Kikuichi Cutlery, you’ll find the perfect present for the culinary lover in your life. In addition, at this makers market you will be supporting an array of incredible local small businesses that are women-, minority-, and LGBTQ+-led.  Along with the curated selection of retail items, there will be treats, warm beverages, and door prizes.

BEM Books & More
BEM | books & more is a literary destination at the intersection of food and Blackness. Established by two sisters in January 2021 as an online bookstore, we are proud to serve as a home for readers, writers, cooks, and eaters passionate about Black cultures in all their diversity. Taking an expansive approach to the nexus of food, literature, and culture, BEM celebrates Black food by bringing works of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry for readers of all ages into conversation with cookbooks and culinary studies to explore how what feeds us defines us. 

Bunx by Bianca Bosso
Bunx is a vibrant brand that blends bold designs, food, drink, and bright colors, all inspired by the things Bianca Bosso, a designer based in New York, loves most. Each piece is hand-designed by Bianca, reflecting her playful, creative vision.

Burlap and Barrel
Founded in 2016, Burlap & Barrel is a single origin spice company and social enterprise working directly with expert spice farmers in more than 25 countries to source unique, beautiful spices for home cooks and professional chefs. Tickets to events held at Platform at Pier 57 by the James Beard Foundation cover the cost of food, education and a unique dining experience. Meals are prepared by culinary masters from all regions of the United States and around the world. Unless otherwise stated, alcoholic beverages are provided on a complimentary basis and are not included in the ticket price.

James Beard Foundation events permit guests age 21 years and older to attend events where alcoholic beverages are served.

Event Policy

Reservation Policy:

All reservations are non-refundable and must be made in advance. Should the event be cancelled due to any unforeseen circumstances, including COVID-19, JBF will offer a range of options, including ticket exchanges, the option to donate tickets, or a full refund. Events at Platform by JBF are special one-night-only menus and we do not offer a la carte menus. If you have serious food allergies, we will work with the visiting chef team to do our best to accommodate but cannot guarantee that alternate options will be available for every course.
