Baltimore’s Bar Clavel is taking the city by storm for its food deeply rooted in Sinaloan ritual. But this family-owned bar is widely known throughout the U.S. as the longest-running mezcaleria with a masterful representation of Mexico’s mezcals.
It is there that this 2024 James Beard Award nominee for Outstanding Bar pays homage to the agave distillates from a wide range of Mexico’s states. Led by Bar Clavel’s Bar Director Dre Levon, guests will explore all that is mezcal during this seminar with the wisdom of the five senses and learn how Dre and his team design their outstanding cocktails while sipping along.
As you imbibe, guests will sample bites from James Beard Award-recognized Chef Carlos Raba’s menu.

About Dre Levon:
Born in Hudson, New York, Dre Levon has been bartending for 18 years, half of it at Clavel’s Mezcal bar. In that time, his team has been nominated for three James Beard awards for their efforts in cocktailing and education, including an appearance as finalists.

Tickets to events held at Platform at Pier 57 by the James Beard Foundation cover the cost of food, education and a unique dining experience. Meals are prepared by culinary masters from all regions of the United States and around the world. Unless otherwise stated, alcoholic beverages are provided on a complimentary basis and are not included in the ticket price.

Reservation Policy:

All reservations are non-refundable and must be made in advance. Should the event be cancelled due to any unforeseen circumstances, including COVID-19, JBF will offer a range of options, including ticket exchanges, the option to donate tickets, or a full refund.
